Shirley W. Costner

Costner, Shirley W. age 92 of Maryville passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at Blount Memorial Transitional Care Center. The family would like to thank the staff of the Transitional Care Center for their wonderful care and support during her stay. Shirley attended Maryville College and was a member of the Chilhowee Club and Broadway Methodist Church. She was an avid gardener and a skilled seamstress. Her watercolor paintings fill the homes of her family and friends, and she participated in juried shows, including the Dulin Art Gallery. She used her artistic talent to help her late husband, J. Edwin Costner, draft house plans. Survivors include: Daughter and Son-in-law, Gayle and John Fey of Nashville; Daughter and Son-in-law, Jan & Ron Jenkins; Son, Joe Costner; Grandchildren, Amy Burroughs, Lindy Taylor, Chuck Blair, Nancy McClanahan; Great-Grandchildren, Shawn & Stephen McClanahan, Melissa Blair, Olivia Myers, Ellie, Eliza, and Frankie Taylor, and Joseph and Julia Burroughs. Family and friends will meet at Magnolia Cemetery for a graveside service and interment on Friday, March 23, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Joe Green officiating.
