Scott David Carter

Scott David Carter, age 29, of Maryville, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2022, of pneumonia.  Scott was the beloved son of Pete and Kim Carter. He graduated from Maryville High School in 2011 and graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Communications with a concentration in Electronic and Sports Media.  He was an Eagle Scout and a Vigil Honor Member of the Order of the Arrow.  Scott was a passionate sports fan of all University of Tennessee Sports. He was member of Clark’s Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church.   He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pete and Betty Carter of Alcoa, and Rev. Gale and Esther Keown of Maryville, and his aunt Pam Carter of Maryville.  He is survived by his uncles and aunts, Ron & Lynn Waters of Alcoa, Larry and Linda Keown of Murfreesboro, Tim and Lisa Johnson of  Mebane, NC ,  and David and Marcia Carter of Alcoa.  He is also survived by his cousins Larry David, Nick, and Bradly Keown of Murfreesboro, Josh Carter and Candace Hunt of Maryville, Kimberly Johnson of Virginia, and Jessica Carter of North Carolina.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Clark’s Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church Building Fund or the Blount County Animal Center. Friends may come by the funeral home to sign the register book and pay their respects on Friday, September 16, 2022 from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm.   Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Clark’s Grove Cemetery.
