Sara Kathryn Tipton

Sara Kathryn Woodward Tipton, 87, died on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at Trezevant Manor in Memphis, TN. Mrs. Tipton was born in Cocke County, TN and was a graduate of Maryville College in Maryville,TN. For many years she was a member of Eudora Baptist Church in Memphis, and most recently, First Baptist Church, Maryville. Mrs. Tipton was preceded in death by her parents, W.S. and Sarah Ellen Woodward of Newport,TN; her daughter, Cecily W. Tipton; and her husband, Cecil Q. Tipton. She is survived by her son, Dr. David A. Tipton of Memphis. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 14, from 4-6 p.m., with the service on Sunday, August 15, at 2:00 p.m., both at Smith Trinity Chapel in Maryville. Interment will follow at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Maryville.
