Sara John Halcomb passed away at Park West Medical Center on October 10, 2014 at the age of 66. Sara is preceded in death by her father Oshana John and mother Rebecca John. Sara is survived by her loving husband, Robert D. "Bob" Halcomb, of 46 years. They were married in Knox, Indiana on March 30, 1968. Sara is lovingly remembered by her son Rob Halcomb, daughter-in-law Stephanie Halcomb, grandchildren Hailey and Ryan Halcomb of Collierville, TN; daughter Lisa Clendenen, son-in-law Erik Clendenen, grandchildren Isabel and Cruz Clendenen of La Plata, MD; brothers Paul and Phillip John of Illinois, sisters Mary Bowman of Illinois and Martha Brock of Kentucky. Sara was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 31, 1947. She graduated from Knox High School in 1965. She relocated to Tennessee with her husband and worked as an insurance agent for the Halcomb Group. She was a member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church. Sara enjoyed music and sharing the love of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2014 in the Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 7:00. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 17, 2014 at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Knoxville Area Rescue Ministry, KARM.org, P.O. Box 3310, Knoxville, TN 37927-3310.
