Salvatore J. Costanza, age 81, of Maryville, died on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Lois (Scott) Costanza with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. Born in New York, NY, he was the son of the late John & Beatrice (Pereca) Costanza and the brother of the late Lynn Alessi and Peter Costanza. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He lived in Forestville, Maryland before moving to Maryville in 1994. He was an entrepreneur and owned a small grocery store in Washington, D.C., and a restaurant in Upper Marlboro, MD. He loved to play golf and gin rummy and to visit with friends. He was always thoughtful and liked to bring gifts of sweet treats to everyone. He was truly a "character," according to all of his friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 daughters, Teresa Nolet and her husband Dan of Taichung, Taiwan, Susan Kircher of Davidsonville, MD, and Jean Miller and husband Brian of Bowie, MD; 6 grandchildren, Catherine Nolet and Andrea Nolet Martin, Bill V and Jodi Kircher, and Colin and Chrysteena Miller.
