Ruth Hitch Sharp, 91, passed away February 4, 2009, at Skyline Medical Center, Madison, Tennessee. She was born March 29, 1917 in Greenville, Tennessee. Ruth was the daughter of the late Clarence and Elizabeth Hitch. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Frank P. Sharp. Ruth served as a substitute school teacher in the Blount County school system and was employed by Blount Memorial Hospital, serving as secretary to the Head of Nursing. She retired from full time work in 1977. Ruth is survived by two sons, Jerry Sharp and his wife, Barbara of Hendersonville, Tennessee, and Hal Sharp and his wife, Shirley of Staunton, Virginia; four grandchildren, Dan Sharp and his wife, Elliane of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Sherri Sharp Werner, and her husband, Frank of Caledonia, Michigan, Trent Sharp of Staunton, Virginia, and Randy Sharp and his wife, Keri of Woodstock, Georgia; four great-grandchildren, Sophia Sharp and Michael Sharp, both of Hendersonville, Tennessee, and Isabella Sharp and Sarah Snowden, both of Woodstock, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 7, 2009, at Smith Trinity Chapel with the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Terry Russell officiating.
