Rufus M. Everett

Rev. Rufus M. “R.M.” Everett, age 93 of Walland went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 13, 2023. R.M. was a lifelong resident of Blount County and was retired from Alcoa Aluminum Co. and was a member of the 30 year club.  He was a minister serving at several area churches for the last 58 years. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force and the Air national Guard attaining the rank of Captain. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and friend who will be deeply missed by those who knew him. Preceded in death by his son and daughter, Dwight Alan Everett and Angela Susan Everett; grandparents, Manson and Mae Everett; and mother, Ruth Everett; Survivors include his wife of 74 years, Delight Wright Everett; cousin, Doris Ann Hardin; brother and sisters-in-law, John and Loreen Caughron and Janice Wright; several nieces and nephews.  Family and friends will assemble at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the graveside service and interment with Rev. George Macht and Rev. Doug Hayes officiating. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Everett Hills Baptist Church  401 S Everett High Rd, Maryville, TN 37804.
