Ruby Cate McCarter

Ruby Cate McCarter, age 87, of Maryville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 9, 2013. Mrs. McCarter was a member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church. She was a devoted mother to her two girls and a much beloved grandmother. With such a sweet spirit, Ruby loved everyone she met. She was a retired nurse and carried this care-giving spirit throughout her life. She loved the Lord and will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Edna Cunningham; sisters, Mildred Loveday, Lona King, Ethel Trundle; brothers, Carlos, Wade and Elmer; former husband, Lloyd Clyde McCarter. She is survived by: sister, Troy Cunningham; two daughters, Barbara & Eddie Haven and Wanda & Larry Tipton; grandchildren, Amy Stumpf, Becky Dyer & Jennifer Franklin, Brian Haven & Scott Haven; nine great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM, Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Smith West Chapel. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 13, 2013 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
