Ruby Iva Jean Atchley Lindsey

Ruby Iva Jean Atchley Lindsey was joined with her heavenly father on Friday, October 14, 2011 after 86 years of life. Iva Jean, passed peacefully at Asbury Nursing Home eight days following the passing of William Allen Lindsey, her loving husband of 67 years of marriage. She was born December 24, 1924. Iva Jean lived in Maryville, formerly Sevierville, where she was a co-founder and member of Unity Christian Church. She was also a co-founder of Smoky Mountain Christian Church of Sevierville. Iva Jean had a pure heart and graced everyone she knew with smiles and big hugs. Iva Jean was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all that knew her. She will be deeply missed by all. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Allen Lindsey; son, Bobby Allen Lindsey; parents Dewey and June Atchley; brothers, Ralph and David Atchley; sister, Ina Raycene Atchley LaFollette. She is survived by her sons, Billy, Dwight, Dennis (Cindy) Lindsey, Darrell (Pamela) Lindsey; daughter Audrey (Douglas) Yates; grandchildren, Michelle Culp, Bobby Allen, Linda B., James and Jessa Lindsey, Archie Liggett, Aaron White, Abigail and Isaac Lindsey, Ashley McMahon, Jason Reagan, Keely Jennings, Josh Lindsey, Bret Lindsey, Perry and Lindsey Smyre, and numerous great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored; sister, Helen Leevena Lundy. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 17, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Josh Lindsey officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Grandview Cemetery for the interment.
