Roy David McCarter

Roy David McCarter, age 63 of Smyrna, TN, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Alvin C. York VA Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN. He was a member of Broadway Baptist Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Army. David was a former school teacher and an avid and loyal Lady Vols Fan. He was graduate of Alcoa High School and Carson Newman College. Preceded in death by: Parents, Roy & Helen (DeFoe) McCarter; Brother, Timothy Lee McCarter. Survivors include: Sisters & Brothers-in-law, Karen & Jack Hackworth of Maryville and Joy & Harold Galyon of Smyrna; Nieces and Nephews, Jana & Steve Leslie of Springhill, TN, Brad & Sarah Galyon of Smyrna, TN, and Joel & Kristy Hackworth of Mentor, TN; Grand Nieces and Nephews, Sloane Cutlip, Grant Cutlip, Morgan Morrison, Luke Galyon, Jordan Hackworth, Justin Hackworth, Jarod Hackworth, Cory Pressley, and Morganne Gibbs; Beloved Aunt, Lucy Drake; several cousins also survive. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment at 4:00 PM, Friday, September 18, 2009 at Grandview Cemetery.
