Roy Lee Cooper

January 3, 1935 — November 22, 2014

Roy Lee Cooper, age 79 of Friendsville went to be with his Heavenly Father Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a lifelong member of Laurel Bank Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. A 34-year veteran of the U.S. Army, Army Guard & Air National Guard, he was very active in Boy Scouts & Cub Scouts. He was a graduate of Everett High School and attended Maryville College. Preceded in death by his son, Bryan Cooper and his parents Kermit & Leona Cooper. Survivors include sons, Brett Cooper, Dennis Cooper, Derek Cooper, Caleb Cooper; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Everett & Deitra Cooper, Edward & Donna Cooper; sister and brother-in-law, Iva and Keith Endsley; and several nephews and a niece. Funeral service will be at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Dr. Charles Bailey officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Laurel Bank Baptist Church Cemetery for the inurnment. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Laurel Bank Baptist Church, 211 County Farm Road, Friendsville, TN 37737. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, Maryville, 983-1000.
