Roxie "Jean" Lawhon

Roxie “Jean” Lawhon age 83 of Maryville passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Blount Memorial Transitional Care. She was a longtime active member and Sunday school teacher at Broadway Baptist Church and retired from JC Penney after many years of service. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister who will be deeply missed by those who knew her. Preceded in death by: Parents, Rev. Benjamin Joseph Christopher and Emmaline Williamson; Daughter, Marsha Gail Lawhon; Sister, JoAnn Christopher. Survivors include: Husband of 63 years, Billy G. Lawhon; Children, Carol & Jack Wood and Stephen & Myra Lawhon all of Maryville; Grandchildren, Joshua Lawhon & Sarah of Maryville, Jonathan Lawhon of Murfreesboro, William Wood & Haley of Maryville and Joseph Wood of Murfreesboro; Great-Grandchildren, Noah, Gabriel, and Asher Lawhon, Reese Wood; Brother, Floyd Prows of Nashville; Sister & Brother-in-law, Kathleen & Lowell Atchley of KY. Family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Broadway Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Tony Collins officiating.
