Ronald E. "Ron" Fretwell; age 64, formerly of Soap Lake, WA passed away peacefully on Friday, April 20, 2012 at Fairpark Healthcare Center. Born in a rural community in Washington State, Ron spent many years farming with his family. As a young man, he served as a cadet in the Civil Air Patrol. Later, he worked for and took great pride in his work as a civilian at Vandenburg Air Base in California. Ronald moved to Blount County later in his life to be near his family. Preceded in death by his parents, Cecile Oesterman and Lloyd Fretwell. Survivors include his Sister and Brother-in-law, Carole and Richard Schenk; niece and her husband, Jill Schenk and Jim Destaso; and nephews, Jeffrey and Todd Schenk. He will be missed by family and friends who remember his inquisitive and generous nature, hearty laugh, and charming sense of humor. The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the loving care he received as Fairpark Healthcare Center. A Celebration of Ron's life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2012 in the Smith Chapel with Rev. Ann Brunger officiating.
