On March 13, 2022, Ronald S. Blevins celebrated his 81st birthday on earth with his family and a few hours later celebrated his first day in heaven with his Savior. He passed away on Sunday morning after briefly battling brain cancer. Ron was raised in Kingsport, TN, and originally attended East Tennessee University intending to become a lawyer only to be called into ministry; he obtained his Bachelor’s degree at Milligan College, his Master’s degree at Kentucky Christian University, and spent 56 years in ministry. He pastored churches in Tennessee, Kentucky and Illinois. His heart for serving people and ministering to their needs propelled him to make a difference in many peoples’ lives. Surviving him are his loving wife of 58 years, Sandra Blevins, his daughter, Cindy Blevins, son, Chris Blevins (Tammie), their three children, Tyler Blevins (fiancée Jess Curtis), Jordan Blevins Kelley (Sean Kelley), and Cassie Blevins, and his great granddaughter, Georgia Kelley. He also leaves his brother, Jack Blevins (Dot), sister, Betty Waters, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walker and Ethel Blevins, and his brothers, Archer Blevins and Richard Blevins. Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 PM Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Smith Trinity Chapel. The Funeral Service will follow at 6:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Palmer officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Highland Cemetery in Rogersville, TN with Pastor Roy Row officiating.
