Robert William Pabst

Robert William Pabst, age 75 of Townsend passed away Monday, December 2, 2013 at the family home. Bob was born July 8, 1938 in Patterson, NJ and grew up in Glen Rock, NJ. He was a graduate of Ridgewood High School, Ridgewood, NJ in 1956 where he was a captain of the high school baseball team, and a lifeguard. He graduated from Duke University in Durham, NC with a bachelor's degree in business administration in 1960. He was a member of the varsity baseball and swimming/diving teams; Navy ROTC; Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Bob was in the U.S. Marine Corps and Marine Corps Reserves from 1960 to 1966 with a rank of Captain. He had a lengthy career in sales and sales management, working for such companies as Bekins Van Lines, Polaroid Corp., Hallmark Cards and L.G. Balfour Co. He later operated his own recruiting agency – Sales Consultants in Palm City, FL. Bob was an avid golfer, a longtime fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox, taking great enjoyment in this year's World Series. Preceded in death by: Parents, Howard N. & Mildred S. Pabst. He is survived by his Wife of 51 years, Donna S. Sweet Pabst. They were married in First Presbyterian Church in Burlingame, CA on October 27, 1962. Other survivors include: Daughter & Son-in-law, Robin Lynn & Arthur Carpentier of Maryville; Son, Jeffrey Russell Pabst of Maryville; Grandson, Alex M. Carpentier; Granddaughter, Olivia T. Pabst; Brother & Sister-in-law, John H. & Roberta Pabst of San Jose, CA. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 PM, Friday, December 6, 2013 at Smith East Hall with a Celebration of Life to follow at 7:00 PM at Smith East Hall with Rev. Christie Banes officiating. After the Celebration Life the family will gather at Laurel Valley Resort. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to: Mary E.
