Robert Allen Lowrey

Robert “Bob” Allen Lowrey, age 83 of Maryville, was surrounded by his wife and members of their family as he lost his courageous battle with his longtime reoccurring illness on February 4, 2020. Bob was a cadet in the Naval ROTC after receiving his BS at Ole Miss. He went on active duty as a Lieutenant in the Navy and communication officer on the battleship upon completion of naval active duty. Bob went back to Ole Miss to receive his master’s degree. He enrolled in Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore in the PHD program. Upon completion, he began working at Consad Research Corporation in Pittsburgh, PA. Bob accompanied his wife Patty for a 4 year assignment in Sao Luis, Brazil Maranhao from 1987 thru 1991. They returned to the United States and have been living in Maryville since 1991. Preceded in death by his parents, Stovall Lowrey and Jane (Allen) Lowrey. Survived by his wife of 45 years, Patricia (Dusch) Lowrey; siblings and spouses, Mary Kate (Lowrey) and Warren Dennis of Winston, Salem, Becky (Lowrey) and Owen Cramer of Colorado Springs, CO, Billy and Pat (Springer) Lowrey; the family of Joseph G. Dusch and Mildred Dusch. A visitation will take place on Sunday, February 9th, 2020 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM in Smith’s Trinity Chapel with a funeral service to follow at 4:00 PM officiated by Maureen McGuire Dusch.
