Robert H. Gillespie

Gillespie, Robert H. age 82 of Oak Ridge, TN, formerly of Maryville, TN, went to be with the Lord Thursday, August 10, 2006 at the family home. Robert was raised in Youngstown, Ohio where he attended school and first met his wife Patty in the third grade. He was a current member of Christ Community Church in Oak Ridge and a former member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Maryville. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving as a Civil Engineer in Guam during WW II. He received his BS Degree in Civil Engineering in honors in 1945 at The University of Illinois and his Master of Science Degree at The University of Illinois in 1948 where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He worked as a Real Estate Developer for The University of Illinois. Preceded in death by his parents, survivors include, wife Patti Job-Gillespie, sons Thomas B. Gillespie, John Gillespie, and Robert H. Gillespie, Jr.; seven step-children; many grandchildren who adored him; sister, Joan Pirl. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2006 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Maryville with Rev. Tom Job and Rev. Raymond Burnett officiating.
