Robert D. Coada

Robert D. “Bob” Coada, age 81, of Maryville, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017. Born in Cades Cove, Bob served as a military policeman in the United States Army before returning to a career as an electrician at ALCOA. A pillar of the community, Bob was known for his loving kindness towards his family and neighbors. He was preceded in death by parents Rufus and Flora Coada, and brother, Bill Coada. Bob is survived by his wife, Delorse Abbott; three children, Dale, Lynnette (Phil Cottrell), and Stanley (Kim Coada); seven grandchildren, Chris (Felicia), Mathieu (Lynsey), Ian (Lydia), Brenna, Laura (Josh), Anna, and Taylor (Darcy); one great-grandson, Jhouceph; and siblings, Lois (James Patty), Kermit (Wanda Coada), Betty (Mack Sharp), Bess Smiley, and Myers Coada; and siblings-in-law, Judy Hill, Melinda Abbott, and Lindel (Hellen Abbott). Receiving of friends will take place at Smith Trinity Chapel on Saturday, November 4, from 12:00-2:00pm, followed by the funeral at 2:00pm with Rev. Tim Martin and Grandson Mathieu Barry officiating.
