Robert Marcus “Mark” Caldwell Sr., age 66, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully at the family home on Thursday, June 29, 2017. Mark was a member of the Knoxville First Church of the Nazarene and was a longtime member and pianist of The Cross Connection Ministry. He was retired from Krispy Kreme after 41 years of service making sure everyone had fresh doughnuts. He loved his country serving in the U.S. Army during Viet Nam. Mark was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and a true friend who never knew an enemy in this life. He loved the lakes and fishing in East Tennessee, was a rabid U.T. Football fan and Atlanta Braves Baseball. He will be truly missed by his family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Owen and Ora Betty Caldwell; Son, Randall Scott Caldwell; Brother, Richard Caldwell; Father-in-law, William Anderson, and Brother-in-law, Kenneth Anderson. Survived by his loving and devoted wife and best friend of 40 years, Shelia Caldwell of Knoxville; Sons and daughters-in-law, Robert M. “Rob” Jr. and Susan Macht Caldwell of Maryville. Jesse William “Jess” and Tamara Caldwell of Corryton, TN; Sister, Melody Mauthe of Knoxville; Brothers and Sister-in-law, Gary and Fran Caldwell of St. Peters, MO, and Chris Caldwell of Arlington, VA; Daughter-in-law, Missy Caldwell; Grandchildren, Kayla and Jacob Lindsey, Megan Caldwell, and Chris Caldwell, all of Maryville; Ian and Lillian Caldwell of Corryton, TN; Great Grandchildren, Jade and Natalie Lindsey of Maryville; Mother-in-law, Alvilda Anderson; Step-Mother, Hazel T. Caldwell of Mableton, GA; Brothers and sisters-in-laws, Carolyn and Terry Andrews, Rita Wiles, Ina and Vernon Corrum Sr., and James and Debbie Anderson; Many nieces, nephews, and other family also survive. A Celebration of Mark’s life will be held at 7:00 pm on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at the Knoxville First Church of the Nazarene, 538 Vanosdale Rd., Knoxville, TN 37909. Rev. Family and friends will assemble on Monday, July 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Memory Gardens West for the Interment service.
