Robert "Bob" Walter Zesut

Maryville, TN

Robert “Bob” Walter Zesut, of Maryville, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday April 4th, 2023 from heart failure. He was 89 years old. He was the son of Polish immigrants, Michael and Josephine Zesut of Glastonbury, Connecticut. 

For most of his life he was an electrical engineer, starting at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in Connecticut to the Howard Hughes Aerospace Division in Los Angeles, where he acquired several awards for electric circuitry design and renovation. Always staying busy, he created his own company, Bay Cities Security and Gates, in the L.A. area. During that time, he was also the leader of his own band, “Bob Zesut and the Polish Eagles Orchestra” through which he produced multiple albums in the 1970s & 80s. He loved the accordion and his Polish heritage.

He also loved to cook and bake. Skills he learned from his mother. His favorites were meatloaf and poppy seed bread, amongst an array of other dishes and he was always bringing by fresh cooked items to the family. He spent many years helping his wife Sharon with her Siamese cats rescue program through which he adopted many as personal pets. He also spent his leisure time visiting Disney parks and going on cruise ships. He most definitely lead a full and gratifying life.

Robert was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorna Hastings and his former wife Sharon Zesut. He is survived by his children with Lorna; Lynda (Zesut) & Gary Glarner of Johnson City, TN., Richard & Emi Zesut, of Maryville, TN., James & Robin Zesut of Maryville, TN., and Jo-Ann (Zesut) & Stephen Clinton, of Glastonbury, CT.. He is also survived by his son with Sharon; Robert M. & Patty Zesut of Houston, TX. and his step daughter, Laura Stacey of Philadelphia, PA. There are eight grand children: Travers Glarner, Shun & Yuna Zesut, Emily, Heather & Sara Clinton, and Oliver & Sharon Rose “Rosie” Zesut. There are also several great-grand children.
