Robert L. Alsop, Sr.

Robert L. Alsop, Sr. age 83, of Maryville passed away Tuesday, May 04, 2010 at Blount Memorial Hospital surrounded by family and friends. He was born May 13, 1926 in Fredericksburg, VA the son of the late Edith and Ashby Alsop. He was the youngest of two sons. He entered the U.S. Army in August of 1944 and served during World War II. After his discharge, he was employed in the transportation industry until his retirement in 1991. Preceded in death by: Brother, Claude. He is survived by: Son & Daughter-in-law, Robert, Jr. and Dianne of Warrington, PA, his Son & Daughter-in-law, James & Sharon of Fairfax, VA, his Son, Garth Todd of Stafford, VA; his Son & Daughter-in-law, Ronald & Debbie Todd of Dale City, VA; and Daughter, Darlene Lyons of Maryville, TN. Mr. Alsop is also survived by his closest granddaughter, Sara Alsop of Warrington, PA, HM2 Nicole Wilson of Portsmith, VA, and Christy Todd of Quantico, VA and by ten other grandchildren.
