Rita Joyce Blanton

Rita Joyce Blanton, age 86, of Friendsville, died Saturday, January 14, 1912 at Brakebill Nursing Facility. She attended the 2nd United Methodist Church of Knoxville and was the pianist for the Sunday School Class. She was born July 27, 1925 the daughter of Charles and Anna Mayer Blanton and was a graduate of Rule High School in 1943. Miss Blanton was retired from Millers Department Store and loved to travel but her favorite place was cades cove. She truly loved animals and was an artist, a photographer, a writer, and crafter who shared these with friends. She is survived by her special friends, Iva and Keith Endsley, Ocie McMurray and Family; and many other friends and co-workers. Special thanks would like to be given to the staff on Blue Wing at Brakebill Nursing Facility, the Activation Department, the Therapy Department, and Jerry from the Dietary Department. Family and friends will assemble at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 1912 at Unitia Church Cemetery in Friendsville for the Graveside service and Interment.
