Ricky Lynn Vickery age 48 of Maryville passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at the Veterans Hospital in Johnson City. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He served as the Commander of Disabled Veterans Chapter 76 from 2007 �" 2009, State Commander of the Disabled American Veterans from 2008 �" 2009, Commander of Blount County United Veterans in 2008, currently serving and Assistant State Adjudent, and was the Outstanding Veteran of the Year for United Veterans of Blount County. He served as the Chaplain for the following service groups: VFW 5154, American Legion Post 13, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 76, and United Veterans of Blount County. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Ethel Hall. Survivors include his mother, Mildred Garland; brothers, Franklin Vickery, Jerry Vickery and wife Debbie, Larry Vickery, and Danny Vickery and wife Angie; sisters, Lisa Knight and husband Keith and Linda Belcher and husband Dwayne; nieces and nephews, Jordan and Katrina Vickery, Amanda Vickery, Kelcie Vickery, Katie Vickery, Zackery McClanahan, Anna McClanahan, Shelby Belcher, Zella Belcher, and Jacob Belcher; special thanks and love to Uncle and Aunt, David and Brenda Hall; special friends, Larry Johnson, Linda Bailey, Donna Mathis, Mike Kennedy, Don Mattingly, Pat Nelson, and all DAV family. Funeral service will be at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, September 25, 2010 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Franklin Vickery officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Grandview Cemetery with full military honors. Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Saturday at Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, Maryville, 983-1000.
