Richard C. Wood, Sr.

Richard C. Wood Sr.; age 82, of Maryville, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Mr. Wood attended Broadway United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII. He was retired from K-25 Union Carbide with 26 years of service. He was the former owner of Merryvilla Swimming Pool and the World Raceway Slot Car Racing Track. He was the current owner the Wood Printing Company of Knoxville. He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Wood Sr. and Daisy McBee Wood; brother, Floyd Wood Jr.; and sister, Phyllis Domer; Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Francis Harris Wood of Maryville; Sons and daughters-in-law and Daughter and son-in-law, William "Tim" and Denise Wood; Barbara and Johnny Garner; Richard C. and Becky Wood Jr.; Jack K. and Carol Wood, all of Maryville; 9 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren; and Sister, Charlotte Wood Winchester of Oak Ridge; Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2009 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev.
