Richard Keith Slick Yates

Richard “Slick�? Yates age 62 of Maryville went to be with the Lord on Saturday November 5, 2011 at UT Medical Center. He was a member of Four Mile Baptist Church and honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he was the recipient of the Bronze Star. He was a loving and devoted father, Papaw, son, brother and friend who will be deeply missed by those who knew him. Preceded in death by; father Robert Yates, grandson Hemi Yates, brother-in-law Mike Wade. Survivors include; Mother, Velma Yates; sons and daughters-in-law Marty and Marsha Yates, Jimmy and Terra Yates, daughter and son-in-law Kelly and Phil Potter all of Maryville, 12 grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law Stanley and Phyllis Yates, sister Leanna Wade all of Maryville. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends, dear friend John “Mule�? Cole of Mississippi. Funeral service will be 7:00 pm Tuesday November 8, 2011 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Scott Linginfelter and Rev. Clayton O’Neal officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 am Wednesday November 9, 2011 at Four Mile Baptist Church Cemetery for the interment.
