Richard Jay Griffin

Richard “Rick” Jay Griffin; Rick met his Lord and Savior August 19, 2022.  Rick was born in Big Spring, Texas on May 22, 1962. Since his father was in the Air Force, his family lived in several places before settling in Maryville in1973.  He graduated from Heritage High School in 1980 and also Tennessee Technical Institute.  Rick was a Biomedical Technician for several medical facilities in the area including Blount Memorial Hospital.  He was a faithful member of Friendsville First Baptist Church and his church family was very special to him. A special thanks to his staff and friends at Davita Dialysis.  Richard is survived by his daughter, Katie Griffin and special pet, Louis. Parents, Phillip and Greta Griffin; Sisters, Carla Summers and Nancy Harrison (Brent), and Brother, Steven Griffin; Nieces, Janna Harrison and Brittany Huffstetler (Travis); Nephews, Taylor Harrison and Cameron Clark; Great-Niece, Ronnie Marie Harrison. Preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Anna Coburn, Edith Davis and Louie Griffin; Great-Grandmother, Maggie Rosa Cooper.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Friendsville First Baptist Church or Gideons International.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Tuesdau, August 23, 2022 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with the funeral service to follow.  The interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 11:00 am.
