Richard Everett, Jr.

Richard Everett Jr. age 85 of Maryville passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Piney Level Missionary Baptist Church. Richard was a veteran who served in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a loving and beloved husband, father, and papaw who will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Richard loved woodworking, gardening, and fishing. He is preceded in death by: Son, Gary Everett; Parents, Richard & Rebecca Everett; Sisters, Lucille Carroll, Marie Long, Merle Millsaps, Pauline Tipton; Brothers, Ellis and Lawrence Everett. Survivors include: Wife of 61 years, Mary Ruth Shields Everett; Son, Steven (Bud) Everett of Maryville; Daughter, Carolyn Everett of Maryville; Daughter & Son-in-law, Sonya & Steve Newman of Maryville; Grandchildren, Corey Everett, Melissa Everett, Dustin & Natalie Gross, Kristen & Paul Gunter, Daniel Everett, Josh Newman, Jessica Newman and Jordan Newman; 6 Great-Grandchildren; Brother & Sister-in-law, Jimmy Lee & Dorothy Everett of Maryville; Brother & Sister-in-law, Wade & Shirley Shields; Sisters-in-law, Bonnie Shields and Evelyn Shields and many loving and supportive nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 7:30 PM Friday, January 30, 2009 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. George Macht officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Piney Level Baptist Church Cemetery.
