Richard Austin Comer, Jr.

Richard A. Jr. “Dick” Comer age 75 of Maryville passed away Wednesday June 1, 2016 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Dick was a longtime member of Maryville Church of Christ and the Knoxville Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the Blount county Sheriff’s Department for 17 years. He enjoyed fishing and gardening in his spare time. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Richard A. Comer Sr. and Jean Cox Comer; daughter, Angie Comer. He is survived by his wife, Janet Comer; step-sons, Russell and wife Sherrie Spencer, Bradley Spencer, Steve Spencer; 3 grandsons and 1 great grandson; brothers, John and wife Cynthia Comer, Gregory Comer; sisters, Stacie Douglas, Pat and husband Harmon Phillips, Gail and husband Ted Christensen, beloved pet Abby. Family will receive friend from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, Monday, June 6, 2016 at Smith Trinity Chapel. A Ceremony to honor his life will follow at 7:00 pm with Minister Jonathan Jones Officiating. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 10:00 am, Tuesday June 7, 2016 at Highland Memorial Cemetery, Knoxville, TN.
