Raymond C. Smelcer

Raymond Coy Smelcer born September 9, 1940 in Sevier County, passed away February 17, 2009 at home after a long battle with cancer. He retired from KAT Bus Lines in Knoxville, TN. Preceded in death by: Father & Mother, Claude & Edna Smelcer. Survivors include: Sister & Brother-in-law, Claudette & Bud Dover; Brother & Sister-in-law, Randall & Peggy Smelcer; Sister & Brother-in-law, Brenda & Richard Gunter; Children, Tommy & wife Stella Smelcer, Lisa & husband Kevin Stevens, Scotty Smelcer; seven grandchildren, Special Aunt Vernice Branch; several nieces and nephews; other loved ones, Geraldine Smelcer and Helen Smelcer; special friend Jackie Johnson and children; many friends at work, school, his buddies that called him everyday during his illness. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2009 in the Smith West Chapel with the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Eddie Myers officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 20, 2009 at Grandview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy Smelcer, Eddie Gunter, Stacy Gunter, Danny Vickery, Kevin Stevens, and Chris Bailey.
