Raymond A. Labounty

Raymond Allen LaBounty age 92 of Townsend, TN passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010. He was born in Tecumseh, Michigan on November 16, 1917 and was a long time resident of Ypsilanti, Michigan. He was a former WW II Naval Officer, Professor and Vice President of Eastern Michigan University, Member of Board of Trustees at Central Michigan University, and a member of Townsend City Council. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen LaBounty and sisters Ruth Puffer and June Pichler. Survivors include his daughters Geri McCallig and late husband Mike McCallig, Jean Stevens and husband Ernie, and Nancy Beckmann and husband Terry; grandchildren, Eric McCallig and wife Shelly, Laurie Harford and husband Steve, Michelle Beckmann, Andy Beckmann, Cathy Truitt and husband Micajah , and Mike Stevens and wife Paola; great grandchildren Michael and Lauren McCallig, Ali and Jamie Harford; sister Ellen Stitt and husband Clifford of Jackson, Michigan, brother Donald LaBounty of Largo, FL. Memorial donations may be made to the Mary E. Tippett Memorial Library, 120 Tiger Drive, Townsend, TN 37882. A private burial will be in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
