Ray Dyke age 75 of Greenback passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a Vietnam Veteran and retired from the United States Army with 20 years of service. Ray was quite the hunter, enjoyed camping and loved bass fishing. He was an active member of VFW and was loved by his family and many special friends. preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle; parents, Walter and Lela Dyke; brothers, Jack, Bobby, Lewis and David; sisters, Jennie and Joan; previous wife, Margaret Green Dyke. Survivors include his loving wife and best friend, Virginia Hance Dyke; daughter, Denise (James) Oberndorf; son, David Green; grandchildren, Blake and Mary Oberndorf; brothers and sisters-in-law, Blaine and Betty Dyke, Bill and Denise Dyke, Jimmy and Karen Dyke; sisters and brothers-in-law, Violet and David Ledger, Essie and Bill Word, Kathy and Don Matoy; sisters-in-law, Lois Dyke, Alla Dyke and Carmelita Dyke; many special nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2018 in the Smith West Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Chris Farmer, Pastor Tyson McKennen and Don Matoy officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Hills Union Cemetery in Dandridge, TN for the interment.
