On January 17th, 2024, Ramona Lambert St. James, 77, passed away peacefully at home. She never liked snow, and being strong in her faith, the blizzard of 2024 was the perfect time for her to go live with her Heavenly Father.
Ramona was born January 10, 1947 in Portsmouth, Ohio, to Lonnie Harrison Lambert and Georgia Copeland Lambert. After graduating from Minford High School, Ramona honed her skills in a variety of office settings, including banking, law, and radio. Her organization and can-do attitude made her a successful part of a number of business ventures, but she spent her later years concentrating on family.
Ramona was preceded in death by her parents; her first grandchild, Nathaniel Smith; her first husband, Joseph Nolan of New Boston, Ohio; and her husband, also of New Boston, Adam St. James, her teenage sweetheart who she reconnected with 25 years after high school.
She is survived by siblings, Lon Keith Lambert of Virginia Beach, Va, and Robyn Lambert Davis of Hixson, TN; children Brent (Janie) Nolan, Stephanie (Mark) Best, and Heather (Ken) Garrison, all from Knoxville; grandchildren, Lonni (Matthew) Carriker, Joseph and Olivia Nolan and Cera Smith; great-grandchildren, Ella Dailey, Finlee Udon, and Poppy Carriker; nieces and nephews Melissa, Chad (Ashley), Andrea (Josh), Madison, Matthew, Olivia, Amelia, Isabella, Harper and Addison.
At Ramona's request, there will be no funeral. A celebration of life for this remarkable woman will be held at a later date. Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, Maryville, 865-983-1000, www.SmithFuneralandCremation.com
