Ralph Ivens, age 81, passed away on September 21, after a long illness. He was well known as a car enthusiast, fueled from growing up around and working at his Dad's garage. He loved finding cars and working on them as projects for show cars, and attending car shows all over the north and southeast US. He put himself through barber school and was a barber. He was then a welder, and subsequently got his master plumber's license. He retired after working for the City of Alcoa for 15 years. Preceded in death by his father Fred Ivens and mother Mae Bell Ivens, uncle JB Graves and aunt June Graves. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, who was by his side until the end, Carol Bryan Ivens; son, Jeff Ivens and wife, Robin; son, Kenny Ivens and wife, Missy; along with their two sons, his pride and joy- grandsons, Cole and Mason Ivens; special cousin, Debbie Rasbury; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Joan Bryan, David and Marilyn Bryan; nieces and nephews; special neighbors, Terry and Debbie Hanagan, Glenda Fields; special friends, Arthur and Evelyn Parrot, Larry and Linda Crum, and Jeff Murphy. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. Family and friends will assemble on Monday September 25, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Grandview Pavilion & Legacy Trail for a graveside service.
