Ralph Aungst, Jr.

Ralph E. Aungst, Jr. age 84, of Alcoa, TN, passed away, Monday, April 2, 2012 at Asbury Place Maryville. Ralph was born in Pine Grove, PA on September 19, 1927. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran and a graduate of Lafayette College. He worked at Alcoa Aluminum Company as a Metalergical Engineer in Massena, NY, Pittsburgh, PA, Alcoa, TN and retired in 1993. Ralph was a longtime member of Broadway United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by: Parents: Ralph E. Aungst, Sr. and May Hadley Aungst; Sisters: Patricia Koshulsky and Nancy Ghirardelli. Survivors include: Loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Sara K. Aungst; Children, Elizabeth Aungst Jarrett of Peru, Ind, Sallie Aungst Martin and husband William (Bill) of Taylorsville, NC, Jonathan E. Aungst of Knoxville, TN, and James R. Aungst of Mableton, GA; Grandchildren, Renae Jarrett, Gregory Jarrett, Ryan Martin, Colin Martin, Alexandra Aungst; 4 Great grandchildren; Sister, Diane Schaeffer and husband Norman; Brother, William Aungst. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Amy Probst officiating. Entombment will follow at Grandview Mausoleum Chapel. Pallbearers will be: Gregory Jarrett, Ryan Martin, Colin Martin, William Martin, Rocky Rochelle, Lance Morehead, and Ron Pyron.
