Polly Jean Mauldin

Polly Jean (Loveday, Herron) Mauldin age 79 of Maryville passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at home. Polly was born November 12, 1935 in Walland. She attended Everett High School and married Marion (Marty) Herron in 1953. His work took them to various locations while raising four boys. They finally settled in Maryville in 1968. Polly taught special needs classes in the Alcoa school system, while Marty continued his work, a lot of which involved travel. She loved gardening and was active in every church in which they were members. She has been an inspiration to all who have known her for the example she set in raising her family by the solid foundation of Christian living. She was married to Richard A. Mauldin in 1998. She was preceded in death by: Husband, Marion (Marty) Herron; Son, Mark Herron, Parents, Ralph and Audrine Loveday; Sisters, June Young and Linda Black. Survivors include: Husband, Richard A. Mauldin; Brother, Buddy Loveday; Son, Marty Jr. and spouse Vicky Herron, children Christiana Herron, Charisa Richardson and spouse Travis Richardson and Sage Richardson, and Caleb and Colin Herron; Son, George (Mike) and spouse Deborah (Debbie) Herron, children Charlsey Tucker and spouse Phillip Tucker and child Maddux Tucker and Shannon Herron. Grandchildren, Whitney Young and spouse Patrick Young and child Owen Young, Blake and spouse Caroline Herron, children Jude and Laurie Herron; Son, John and spouse Julie Herron, children Macy and Jake Herron. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM, Friday, October 30, 2015 at East Maryville Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Johnson, Dr. Doug Sager, and Pastor Marty Herron officiating. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Grandview Cemetery.
