Phillis Morton Stephens age 92 of Maryville passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2011. She retired from Bell South (AT&T). Since retirement she has been a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Phillis attended Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. She loved to cross stitch, quilt, and tend to her flowers. Preceded in death by: Husband, Earl Stephens; Parents, Ernest & Minnie Morton; Brother, Victor Morton. Survivors include: Daughters & Sons-in-law, Linda & Ray Boring of Maryville and Houston, TX and Beverly Jo & Neal Wormsley of Maryville; Grandchildren, Brae Boring of Houston, TX, Toby Caldwell of Maryville, Shannon Lawson of Houston, TX, Christy Caldwell of Knoxville; Great-Grandchildren, Destiny Boring of Houston, TX, Mengesha Brook of Houston, TX, Jada Lawson of Houston, TX, and Charlie Caldwell of Knoxville; Sisters-in-law, Bernice Headrick and Jeanette Stephens; many other relatives. Funeral service will be at 8:00 PM, Friday, February 4, 2011 at Smith West Chapel with Rev. Carol Wilson and Rev. Alta Raper officiating. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to: Pleasant Hill Ladies @ Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 503 Pleasant Hill Road, Maryville, TN 37803.
