Phillip Joseph Schlosshan 90, of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was born in Blount County in 1925. Phillip lived in Cades Cove for a short time then moved to Alcoa. He worked for Alcoa Aluminum Co. for 39 years as a Superintendent of the Electrical Department. After retiring, he worked another 2 years as a consultant for ALCOA. He belonged to the Alcoa 25-Year Club and was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. He was a life-member of the NRA. Phillip was a devoted brother, husband, father and grandfather. He loved to read and cruise the 7 seas….most of all he loved his grandchildren and kept up with each one. Preceded in death by: Wife of 50 years, Georgia (nee Parton) married December 31, 1947; Sisters, Sarah & Mary. Survivors include: Children, Charles & wife Jane, Phillip “Richard”; Grandchildren, Joe Schlosshan, Kenny Schlosshan, and Daniel Schlosshan; Great-Grandchildren, Andrea, Raven, and Chloe Schlosshan; Brother, William Schlosshan; several nieces, nephews, and greats. Family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment at 11:30 AM, Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Raymond Burnett officiating.
