Peggy Irwin Hembree, age 84 passed away peacefully at home, after a battle with cancer. She was born in Maryville, TN to Sam and Virgie Shields Irwin. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and The Golden Glow Sunday School Class. Peggy was a loving, caring, and generous mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Preceded in death by: husband of 62 years, James Harold Hembree; parents; son, Sam Hembree. She is survived by: daughter & son-in-law, Janice (Jerry) Garner; grandchildren, Mychal (Buffy) Hembree, Aimee (Brian) Cooper, Chelsea (Andrew) Easterly, and Julie Garner; great-grandchildren, Taylor Hembree, Ethan Hembree, Bailey Cooper, Bryson Cooper, Cohen Easterly, Cadha Kirkland, and Anghus Kirkland; nieces, nephews, and cousins. A special thank you to her primary care physician, Dr. W. David Vines at ETMG and oncologist, Dr. Nathan Schrock at UT. A very special thank you to Blount Memorial Hospice for their excellent care during her illness. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Peggy to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 3736 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN 37804. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment at 3:00 PM, Friday, April 26, 2024 at Grandview Pavilion. A Celebration of Life will be at 4:00 PM, Friday, April 26, 2024 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 3736 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN 37804 with Rev.
