Paul Edward Kriss

Paul Edward Kriss, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and devoted family man, passed away on January 4, 2025, at the age of 80. A man of deep faith, Paul was a dedicated member of Resurrection Church (St. Stephen’s Catholic Church) in Johnstown, PA. He was a proud graduate of Johnstown High School and retired after 43 years of exemplary service with the USDA (REA Division).

Paul is preceded in death by his son, David Lee Kriss; his mother, Katherine Labich Kriss Rummel; his brother, Charles “Butch” Kriss; and sister-in-law, Joanne Kriss.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Judy D. Kriss; his son, Joseph Paul Kriss; stepson, James Kevyn Smith; daughter-in-law, Patricia Smith; cherished grandchildren, Elyjah Noah Smith and Natasya Elise Smith; the mother of his children, Carol Paterick (and partner, Ed Hill); daughter-in-law, Wendy Sokol; and a dear lifelong friend, Larry Partrich. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Cynthia Parks, Sherri Dillane, Brian Kriss, and Amy McConnell, who will all remember him fondly.

Paul will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and the love he showed to his family and friends. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
