Paul E. Eakens, Sr, age 75 of Maryville passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018 at his home. Paul was the founder and owner of Universal Press Repair and Universal Press Sales. He was a member of the Maryville Farmers Market for many years. Paul loved to garden, work in his blackberries, and was an avid fisherman. Preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Grace Eakins; brothers, Charles Eakins, Jr. Eakins, and Bill Eakins; sister, Kathryn Tipton. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Teresa Eakens; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Yahya Sotoudeh; grandchildren, Caleb and Eli Eakens, Matthew and Sarah Sotoudeh; sister, Betty Jane Henry; mother of Paul’s children and long-time friend, Evelyn Eakens Gregory; special friend, Charlene Evans; many nieces and nephews, special pet, Ace. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 24, 2018 in the Smith Trinity Chapel. Graveside service and interment will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Clark’s Grove Cemetery with Rev. Keith Johnson officiating.
