Patricia Ann Vranes

April 24, 1942 — December 28, 2008

PATRICIA ANN (LOCCISANO) VRANES (PATTY), age 66, of Louisville, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2008 after a long illness at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of John XXIII Roman Catholic Church, Knoxville, Tennessee and employed by Blount County Schools Central Office as a Personnel Secretary. Patty worked in the Blount County and Maryville City Schools systems for over 23 years and was known for her kind and helpful manner in each of the positions she worked. She was an avid collector of giraffe paraphernalia. Patty graduated from Lincoln High School, Ellwood City, Pennsylvania as class salutatorian and enjoyed attending the Foothills Fall Festivals. Patty is preceded in death by her father Dominic Loccisano, Downingtown, Pennsylvania and brother, Nicholas Loccisano, Ellwood City, Pennsylvania. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Rudy Vranes, Louisville, Tennessee; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Robert Amburn, Guntersville, Alabama; daughter and son-in-law Kena and Michael Crume, Mooresville, North Carolina; son and daughter-in-law, Major Jason and Wendy Vranes, El Paso, Texas; known to her precious nine grandchildren as "Nana" are Joseph and Rachel Amburn; Evan, Ryan, and Julia Crume; Grace, Micah, Faith and Hope Vranes; mother, Frances Loccisano, Downingtown, Pennsylvania, sister and brother-in-law, Valerie and John Maxwell, Downingtown, Pennsylvania; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Milan and Grace Vranes, Maryville, Tennessee; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Melva and Ron Skinner, Gainesville, Virginia; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nephew, great nieces, and cousins. Patty loved to crochet and presented handmade blankets to each of the newborn grandchildren, one great nephew, and five great nieces in the family. The family would like to give special thanks for the wonderful care provided by Dr. Thomas Kubota and the nurses on the 5 East Floor at Blount Memorial Hospital. Special thanks also to Blount County Central Office and coworkers Jenny Johnston and Alisa Teffeteller. Additional thanks to the DENSO family, close friends Jim and Sharon Reggio, Louisville, Tennessee, and Doug and Diane Hill, Maryville, Tennessee. Also, to the many close friends Patty has made during the past thirty years living in Blount County, thank you for your support and prayers. Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Smith Funeral Home, 1402 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, Tennessee 865-983-1000. Mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 860 Louisville Road, Alcoa, Tennessee, 37701 on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at 10:00 AM officiated by Fr. Eric Andrews, Pastor John XXIII Catholic Church with entombment to follow at Grandview Cemetery, 2304 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, Tennessee, 37803.
