Pamela Harrison

Pamela “Pam” Marie Harrison died with family by her side on October 10, 2015 due to complications following lung cancer. She was 60 years old. Ms. Harrison was born on March 25, 1955 in Joliet, Illinois. Her parents are Patricia Odell Scott (deceased) and Thomas Wayne Scott of Grand Island, FL. She graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelors of Arts in English and a Masters in English. She began her teaching career at West High School in Knoxville, TN and spent the last 19 years of her career teaching English at Alcoa High School in Alcoa, TN from which she retired in June 2015. She loved teaching and was a favorite teacher of many. Pam was an avid reader and a fan of science fiction. She loved her family and cherished family reunions in the Smoky Mountains. She will be remembered for her love for animals and she provided a loving home to many rescue pets throughout the years. Pam is survived by her father Thomas Scott and her three brothers Jerome Thomas Scott of Marissa, IL, Michael Wayne Scott of Matthews, NC, and Brian Keith Scott of Frederick, MD as well as six nieces and nephews Tricia Pratt, Philip Scott, Valerie Scott, David Scott, Jude Scott, and Beau Scott. Ms. Harrison will be honored and remembered through Receiving of Friends on Saturday, October 17th at 10:00am - 12:00pm at Smith Professional Center, 627 Smithview Drive, Maryville, TN 37803. All are welcome to attend to celebrate Pam’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ms. Harrison’s honor may be made to ALMOST HOME Animal Rescue, P.O.
