Orma Delores Cate

Orma Delores Cate, age 79 of Alcoa, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018 in the presence of her family. Orma was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was always a beautiful woman with a large and generous heart which she gave without judgment to anyone in need. She was always musically talented, an amazing cook, and loved nature and the outdoors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Cate; parents, Ben and Alma Hill; brother, Bill Hill; and niece, Ann Nick. Survived by her son, Dean Wicks and Maria Petsola-Crawley; grandson, Brad Wicks and wife, Carrie; granddaughters, Holly Hendricks and husband, Adam, and Stephanie Allen and husband, Julian; great grandchildren, Nora, Grady, and Rhett; sisters and brother-in-law, Wanda Clegg, and Barbara and Bob Frederick, all of Maryville; many nieces, nephews and a host of family also survive. A Celebration of Orma’s life will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2018 in the Smith Trinity Chapel from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider a donation in Orma’s name to your favorite charity.
