Oris (Ted) Fox, 73, passed away August 19, 2013 with his loving wife and soul mate Lea, of 45 years by his side. Ted battled Dementia/Alzheimer's for several years. In July, he was diagnosed with lung cancer, small cell stage (4) and already spread to other parts of his body. Ted gave a strong fight but this awful disease overpowered his already weaken body. Ted graduated from Porter High School in 1957. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Ted was a heavy commercial builder for years and retired from City of Oak Ridge Code Enforcement Department. Ted was Blount County's 1st code enforcement officer. He had a passion for life, anyone that knew Ted, knew how he loved his food. Ted loved his family deeply and always thanked God for his family he loved so very much. He enjoyed traveling and especially loved to take cruise's and loved Tennessee football. Preceded in death by: parents, H.C. and Gladys Fox. He leaves behind a loving wife of 45 years, Lea Fox; daughter, Robin (Fox) Edmonds and son-in-law, Johnny Edmonds and granddaughters, Evelyn Edmonds and Sidney Edmonds all of Denver, CO; brother, Rex Fox of Maryville; several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Doctor Roberts & Somerville, Doctor Schrock, NP, Julie Carpenter, NP, Katie Rule and the entire Staff on palliative care floor. Special thanks to Nurse Rebecca for all the help she gave to us both. You were Ted's angel and we are eternally grateful. My special thanks to the entire Hospice staff for all the support, special care and kindness everyone gave Ted and myself during this most difficult time. Thanks to RN nurses Ann, Tracie and Karen along with others. Ted's (bath lady) Sharan, (I will never forget you're special help and kindness, thank you!). Social worker, Jen for your special support and kindness. Chaplin, Jerry Scott: my eternal gratitude for all your help and support you gave in every way possible. Special friends: Andrea McHugh, Carol McClusky, Cindy Franks and Faith Guinn for giving time and errands. Thanks to all our friends for the calls, cards, visits and support. A special thanks to Jim and Patty Hall from Sevierville. They were hospice volunteers and gave so much time and kindness. Memorial service will be at 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Chaplain Jerry Scott officiating. Family and friend will assemble for interment at 11:30 AM, Monday, August 26, 2013 at Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Hwy.
