Ora B. Bridges

Ora Berry Bridges age 90 of Maryville passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 28, 1918 in Sharps Chapel, TN. She was a member of Halls Primitive Baptist Church and attended Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Robert Palmer Bridges and parents Bud and Helen Berry. Survivors include her daughter, Dr. Betty Bridges Long of Boone, NC; brothers and sisters, Forster Berry of Knoxville; Marie Weaver of Maryville, Lee Berry of Sharps Chapel, TN, Trula Berry of Maryville; nieces and nephews Vicky Whitaker, Carolyn Vineyard, Brenda Weaver, Dale Weaver, Becky Potter, Janice Rutherford, Erwin Berry, Jeannie Bowling, Edwin Berry, Ernie Berry and Edward Berry. A special thanks to longtime family friend and caregiver, Alva Cooper, and to Doris White for her love and care for the past several weeks. Family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service will be at 3:00 pm, Saturday, with Rev. Carl White officiating.
