O'Neil Prince Cooke, age 86, of Friendsville, took his heavenly flight home on Sunday, June 10, 2012. He was a member of Friendsville First Baptist Church and a Veteran of the United States Army serving in WW II. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Arley and Viola May Prince Cooke; brother, Euston Paris Cooke; wife of 64 years, Dorothy Bessie Ownby Cooke and loving granddaughter, Melissa Dawn Cooke Blair. He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Larry Prince Cooke and Darrell Lynn and Brenda Carolyn Cooke all of Friendsville; grandchildren, Jenny Sue Cooke Stanford, Amanda Lynn Cooke Gaylor and husband, Ashley W. Gaylor all of Friendsville, and Laura Louise Cooke Stowers and husband, Brent Stowers of Florida; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; long time loving friends, Calvin and Martha Lynch of Friendsville and many more. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2012 in the Smith West Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Jim Lawhorn officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association of TN, 865-544-6288.
