Oliver Sterling Messner

Oliver Sterling Messner age 91 of Maryville, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2025 at his home. He graduated with honors with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida. Oliver began his career at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft where he met the love of his life, Phyllis. He then worked for Chrysler Space Division in the 1960’s, and finally settled in East Tennessee in 1977, working for multiple facilities at the Oak Ridge Reservation. Preceded in death by: wife, Phyllis McCoy Messner; son, Dale Norman Messner; parents; siblings. Survivors include, son & daughter-in-law, Brett Eliot Messner (Lisa); grandson, Dylan Gideon Messner; several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Mary, Diane, Tee & Sheila for their care.
