Odell Ruth Huffstetler

Odell Ruth Cooper Huffstetler our beloved mother passed from this life Tuesday, October 28, 2014 to join her Heavenly Father, husband and loved ones. Born August 23, 1928 in Cades Cove the sixth of ten children to Autie Sparks Cooper and John Ira Cooper. Mom was very proud of her Cades cove heritage. Preceded in death by: Parents, John Ira & Autie Sparks Cooper; Sisters, Twins, Leo Dailey, Cleo Russell, Edith LeQuire, Sue Hale, Gearline Waters; Brother, James Murphy Cooper; Husband, Eugene married 61 years. Survivors include: Sisters, Irma LeQuire of Hendersonville, NC, Louise Boone of Kingston, TN, Unav Pilkington of Maryville, TN. Mom played basketball for Fairview School PTA with a hook shot that was unstoppable. A homemaker, wife, mother always meeting the needs of her four children and husband encouraging us and sheltering us from the storms of life. Leaving behind 45 descendants, Daughters, Brenda & husband Richard Boring and Phyllis Baker & husband Rev. Arkie Baker; Sons & Daughter-in-law, Gary & Darlene Huffstetler and Roger Huffstetler; Grandchildren, Traci & Perry Bowlin of Martin, TN, Bridget & Rob Smudrick of Maryville, Rebecca & Charles Covington of Martin, TN, Martyn & Jenni Baker of Maryville, Mandy & Russell Brantley of Maryville, Chad & Sabrina Huffstetler of Maryville, Todd & Jennifer Huffstetler of Maryville, Lynn & Valarie Huffstetler of Summertown, TN, Kelly & Ben Batchelor of Maryville; Great-Grandchildren, Rachel, Isabella, Elizabeth, Channing, Elaine, Elijah, Luke, Spencer, Garrett, Courtney, Orion, Cole, Sydney, Morgan, Levi, Audrey, Madison, Ellie, Kendall, and Cade; dozens of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special thanks to caregivers, Faye, Ruby, Jessica, Inez and hospice care. Per mom's wishes family and friends will assemble for a Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Grandview Cemetery with Rev. Arkie Baker and Rev. Scott Linginfelter officiating. Family will receive friends at The Life Event Center, 1404 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville after the graveside service.
