Rev. Obie Campbell

Rev. Obie Campbell of Greenback, TN was born on March 24, 1931 and passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, October 6, 2019 at the age of 88. Preacher Obie, as he was affectionately called, ministered to churches in Blount, Loudon, and Monroe counties for over 50 years. He preached many services, revivals, baptisms, and marriage ceremonies over the years and touched many lives though his compassionate ministry. Obie was the last survivor of the seven children of the late Rafe and Anna Campbell. He was also preceded in death by parents-in-law, Henry & Kate Hill, along with several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Dora Hill Campbell. He is also survived by his children: Debbie & husband Alan Walker, Randy & wife Jennifer Campbell, Janet & husband Mike Reagan, and Scott & wife Anne Campbell. He adored his grandchildren: Amanda & husband Charlie Binder, Jessica & husband Taylor Lindsey, Hannah Reagan, Andrew & Angela Campbell. He is also survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Julia Goins, Harrison Hill, Ronnie & wife Velma Hill, Ruth & husband Allen Jones, Sharon Hill, and Eddie & wife Phyllis Hill. Obie is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM with Rev. Scott Campbell officiating. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Grandview Cemetery with Rev. Harrison Hill officiating.
