Norma R. Foxx

Norma R. Foxx, 90, of Maryville, TN passed away on February 17, 2024 at Brookdale, Browns Creek. Norma was born on November 16, 1933 and was a lifelong member of Ellejoy Baptist Church.  She was a quiet and soft-spoken woman who found joy in her quilting, embroidery, and crocheting.  Norma was preceded in death by:  husband of 56 years, Herbert Foxx; parents, Wiley & Rachel Stinnett Rogers; sister, Dorothy Rogers; brothers, Jim and Harvey Rogers; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Earl Ford, Bob Boatman, Hulet “Hoot” and Margaret, Hix and Mary Evelyn, and Earl and Esther Foxx, Lena and Dale, and Mike Tipton, Glenn Tucker, Charles Schlangen.  She will be dearly missed by her surviving family; sisters, Geraldine Ford and Deloris Boatman; nieces, Pam Maples (Jim) and Debbie Jackson (Brad); nephew, Robert Boatman (Mechelle); great-nephews and niece, Shane, Sam (Jessica), Tara, Shawn (Samantha), and Donnie; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby Schanglen, Thelma (Jean) Tipton, Barbara Boling (Reece), Sue Tucker, Janice Teffeteller (Wayne); many nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews.  The family would like to thank everyone at Brookdale, Browns Creek for making her feel at home during her time with you.  We want to thank Adoration Home Health and Amedisys Hospice for the care and compassion they gave Norma during their visits.  We also want to thank those who stayed with her during her last days – you were a blessing.  Our family is deeply grateful to her neighbors, Gayle and Cye Miles, for all their help the past few years.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to:  St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon, Monday, February 26, 2026 at Smith Trinity Chapel.  Funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM with Rev. Shane Maples officiating.  Interment will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, February 26, 2024 at Ellejoy Baptist Church Cemetery.
